Jaguar XK150SE

With this Jaguar XK150 Coupé you buy a ticket to exclusive classic car events throughout Europe! This vehicle was imported from California in 2021 and is currently undergoing a complete and very extensive restoration. The original color is black on the outside and also with a black interior. The basis is fantastic and the vehicle has "Matching Numbers", which means that all numbers on the engine, cylinder head, body, chassis match the Heritage Certificate.

History

This XK150 was built on New Year's Eve 1958 and delivered in the United States. The history has been known to us since the early 1970s. The vehicle was owned by a family from Monterey from the early 1970ies on and was only a few miles from "Pebble Beach", which is known to every car enthusiast. Whenever the car was started and the contemporary Abarth exhaust sounded, the neighbors ran over, the sound was great cinema even in the 60s and 70s. Chances are that this XK150 was also parked on the lawn of the Pebble Beach Golf Club. The decal on the windshield testifies to occasional use on the legendary Laguna Seca race track. The vehicle has been decommissioned since 1976.

The market for XKs

A wrecked XK150S was auctioned at Bonham's in May 2021 for €107,000. Before that, a coupé could be sold for €211,000. The XK150 is an excellent investment. This also underscores the fact that only 2173 units of the left-hand drive FHC (for Fixed Head Coupé) were built. In 1960 the XK150 was still one of the fastest production cars of its time and the first production car ever to have disc brakes on all four wheels. The XK150 are becoming increasingly popular because they also offer space for very tall drivers, including luggage or golf bags.

Brand history

If you're interested, you've probably read the history of Jaguar and the XKs extensively. For that reason, it should be mentioned briefly that the XK150 was the world's first production car with disc brakes on all four wheels and was the product of experience that Jaguar impressively demonstrated at Le-Mans. An XK was the supercar of the 1950s and 1960s and had Ferraris, Mercedes 300 SLs and Porsches in tow. Back then, a Jaguar would be driven to the racetrack, collect its trophy and the drivers would drive to the pub and then home in the same car - across national borders.

Complete restoration in guaranteed quality

This XK is offered fully restored. The drive train and chassis are rebuilt with all available upgrades with new parts. The engine is completely rebuilt with all sensible improvements, such as valve seats for unleaded petrol and much more. All work is carried out by specialists in the sector. There are no compromises in quality. In short you will be delivered a “brand new” and fully tested Car from 1958!

Body

The body has no significant corrosion, but the vehicle is completely stripped of paint, protected against future corrosion and all layers are rebuilt. You won't be able to compare the quality of this restoration to any other 1990's restoration. The result is a mirror-smooth finish that will command attention on any concours turf and a quality that lasts. The painting process alone will take over two months as each layer is given the time it needs to settle. The result will speak for itself!

Interior

The XK150 was delivered with black leather, other colors are optionally possible. The interior is completely renewed to meet the standard of the restoration. You actually get a new vehicle inside and out!

The personal touch

At this point you can still give the vehicle a personal touch, even commission it completely according to your personal ideas. Would you like the original 150S triple carburettor, a modern 5-speed gearbox, power steering, air conditioning or improved brakes? The vehicle will be built entirely to your specifications!

Possible options:

  • S specs 3.4 or 3.8 up to 270 hp
  • Tuned Cylinder Head (Porting, Highlift Cams)
